Go to the TPB website here.

Click "Search the Register".

Enter the name , registration number or business details of the tax agent or bas agent you want to check.

Look at the results to see if they are registered and to get their contact details.

 

This helps you make sure that your Tax Agent is officially registered and trustworthy.

To register a Complaint

If you are unhappy with the services you have received from a Tax Agent first try to resolve any issues directly with the tax practitioner first, where possible.  It is a good idea to do this in writing so you have a record for reference.  If you are unable to resolve the issue you can make a complaint to the TPB using the Complaint Form here.

There are some complaints about tax practitioners that the TPB cannot investigate.  This may include where the conduct of a tax practitioner does not breach the TASA, disputes on fee and commercial issues, issues that are outside the TPB's responsibilities.
